My Autoimmune Journey
Back in 2002, shortly after moving to the United States from Russia, I received a life-changing diagnosis: ulcerative colitis (UC), a form of inflammatory bowel disease. This autoimmune condition targeting the colon left me feeling helpless, as conventional wisdom dictated lifelong medication and management without hope for a cure.
My long journey to regain control of my health started ten years later, when already living in the U.K., with my first exposure to non-traditional medicine which brought a marked, yet not permanent, relief during the worst flare-up I ever experienced. It was only through introducing lasting dietary and lifestyle changes - removing gluten, adopting organic-centred diet and managing stress - that I could embrace a life free from medication and flare-ups.
My experiences prompted me to study Naturopathic Nutrition. In 2022, I graduated with a distinction from the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London, after an intensive 3-year course that included over 200 clinical hours. To further enhance my understanding of autoimmune conditions, I completed the Certified Gluten-Free Practitioner Programme under the guidance of Dr. Tom O’Bryan, a global authority on autoimmunity and wheat-related disorders.
My mission now is to help people suffering from autoimmunity or unexplained chronic symptoms regain their health so that they can live a life free from symptoms and pain.
